    It was working really well and just recently my rheumy told that I was in remission. Then I had an allergic reaction to the plaquenil - a rash all over my body, neck, arms and legs. All of my symptoms of lupus and sjogrens are coming back and I am feeling worse each day. It has very few short term side effects and it does hold the inflamation. It seems very strange that you would be taking it with no problem and then all of a sudden have a reaction. I had been taking plaquenil since April for my lupus and sjogrens.     From what I understand it is very rare for someone to have an allergic reaction to the Plaquenil and when they do that isn't how it shows up. Hopefull it's not the Plaquenil because this drug is really a very good drug for Lupus. I went through some paperwork I had about Plaquenil and am pasting it here for you to read. I was dx in August with Lupus and my Rheumy said she was afraid to start me on Plaquenil since I had a bad reaction to a Sulfa antibiotic I took and the same reaction when a Dr gave me Lasix. I read that the sulfa in Plaquenil is different from those in antibiotics and most people with Lupus have an allergy to Sulfa but can take Plaquenil.
