    Tapering off plaquenil

Take this medicine with meals or milk to lessen stomach upset, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Your infection may not clear up if you stop using the medicine too soon.

Test done before plaquenil Can i drink if taking plaquenil Can chloroquine cause anemia

I think tapering off over a month or so would be fine, but I would NOT go cold turkey on this one. Maybe your doc will want to switch you to another SNRI like Effexor to help during the taper off. And of course you can’t really cut the tabs in half due to the time-release coating. Aug 26, 2016 So I ran out of my plaquenil and the Rheum. that prescribed it I am no longer seeing and wont re-fill it and I dont see my new Rheum. until Decemeber 23rd. I am nervous to see what will happen. The pharmacist said there wont be any danger just stopping it. Im just nervous to see what my body will do. Has anyone gone off the plaquenil and what happened? I hear my new Rheum. is all for it so I. With the Plaquenil I don't think you will find much relief in such a short time on it & at half of a workable dose. I have read about people stopping P & flaring up. Those who stopped it abruptly had real problems similar to what you are experiencing. If you really need to get off it, I would taper down slowly, very slowly.

The dose of this medicine will be different for different patients. For patients taking hydroxychloroquine to prevent malaria: If you are also taking kaolin or antacids, take them at least 4 hours before or after using hydroxychloroquine.

Removing the Plaquenil to 3 days a week hasn't take away the pain. Due to new insurance protocols in our state, we have had a month of switching doctors not all his doctors take the new insurance and he will now have a new Rheumatologist. I also have an open invitation to Dr Medsgar's, a Scleroderma specialist. Hi everybody! I recently went to the doc and he recommended that I try cutting my Plaquenil in half from 400mg to 200mg/day. I have been on it since March, 2002. It's been about a week and I have noticed a few slight changes, mainly a little stiffness in my fingers and feeling a little fatigued. Mar 15, 2014 Prednisone Tapering Schedules. A prednisone tapering schedule will depend on the unique medical condition of the patient and how long they have been taking prednisone before attempting to taper off. Here is a 12-day taper schedule for high dose prednisone from a dermatologists office With 10 mg tablets Day 1 take 6 tablets Day 2 take 6 tablets
